Title: Development of a comprehensive services sector strategy for St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Project Location: St. Vincent and the Grenadines
The key aims of the project were to equip service providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and exploit new and existing opportunities in services trade, as well as to recommend standards and regulations and develop sector strategies and action plans that would enhance competitiveness of the services sector.
Enabling Environments carried out the following services in consultation with both the public and private sectors:
- Preparation and implementation of an export development training workshop, which provided training and capacity building with respect to export development techniques in trade in services for 40 participants from different services sectors;
- Development of sector strategies, action plans and proposals to improve competitiveness in the services sector and facilitate better linkages between the services sector, agriculture and manufacturing sectors;
- Organisation of a training workshop on services trade negotiations strategies including specific services proposals for liberalization in the DDA context.
